Anjanapura (officially part of Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagara) is a rapidly developing residential township in south Bengaluru. Laid out as one of the larger BDA developments in recent years, Anjanapura sits to the east of Kanakapura Road and near the Bannerghatta / NICE corridors. It is served by bus links and the Silk Institute metro terminal on the Green Line, making it increasingly well connected to the rest of the city.
Where the name comes from — a short note
The name Anjanapura is locally associated with the Anjaneya (Hanuman) tradition — the neighbourhood contains an old Anjaneya (Hanuman) temple and historic inscriptions/hero-stones that reference the site’s older identity. Because of this temple and the local history, the locality’s modern name reflects that cultural link (Anjaneya → Anjanapura). The area is now a mix of new residential layouts, small commercial pockets and preserved heritage spots
