Taking garden plants from Bangalore?

Flowers in Lalbag and everywhere in Bangalore looks so attractive and we are tend to buy small plants from Bangalore while going back to home towns.

Any issue of buying plants ?

How many of you know that developed countries dont allow plants or seeds to take it to their country while traveling. Yes, this way many new diseases can get into the country from the plants origin country.

Now let us come back to our case. I have been trying to plant chilly, tomato in my flower plots and observed they all having a white color spreading disease and none of them grew well. Later I understood that all gardeners use heavy pesticides to avoid this. Because many trees/ plants which we see in Bangalore are imported.

So I recommend never take plants from garden while traveling back, you may be spreading diseases.

Buying milk in Bangalore? What to be careful about

In Bangalore any shop guy will take 50 paise extra on MRP on milk. What ever you argue you cant do anything on this.

When ever I go to buy milk, I observe, some people selectively asking for milk which lasts for many days. But how many of you know that this milks are banned in nearby states after detecting formaline beyond the limit?

What formalin does?

You might have heard about formalin, it is used to keep animals intact in science labs. Yes they are chemicals which should not be consumed, but we get fish now a days applied with formalin. And even in milk they are using it to keep the milk many days without getting spoiled.

So what we can do?

My recommendation is, always try to buy milk produced under government. At least they dont use chemicals.

Precautions while buying fruits in Bangalore

Recently I was in a vegetable shop where I buy fruits and vegetables and shop owner was quite known to me.

I asked him, "brother we also cultivate banana in my native, but they never look attractive with so perfect yellowish colour and no black mark". His reply was scary.

He told "sir, all this fruits are ripened by Carbide (Carbide is a chemical which is banned in all developed countries for usage in fruits), the banana will be very much raw and the marketers put carbide and in 1 day all banana color will be come yellow, but no much sweet"

This is the fact friends;  olden time, Bananas were ripened by keeping them in a compartment filled with some (No harm to human health). But this was time consuming and much effort required. But carbide work is cheap and quick.

Mangos

I have a friend who does catering business in a IT Company cafeteria. He says, all mangoes are ripened by carbide and now its used with all fruits, even with lemon to make them yellow.

Can we do something?

I think only government can do something, as a common man we have limitations.
